Nella puntata di Tondo Podcast di oggi abbiamo intervistato Elena Sgaravatti, fondatrice di PlantaRei Biotech, nata nell’ottobre del 2020 con l’obiettivo di promuovere l’utilizzo di biotecnologie sostenibili e green, in un modello di network innovation con aziende e centri di ricerca italiani.
PlantaRei Biotech è una start-up innovativa di technology transfer, ossia specializzata nel trasferimento tecnologico per la ricerca, sviluppo e produzione di botanicals , prodotti derivati da piante e residui alimentari, utilizzati per esempio nella cosmesi e nella farmaceutica. Il passaggio tecnologico serve a trasformare i risultati della ricerca scientifica in prodotto innovativo, agevolando il passaggio di conoscenze dal mondo della ricerca al mercato.
PlantaRei è inoltre impegnata nel riutilizzo di food by-products dando loro nuova vita in settori diversi, dalla cosmesi alla farmaceutica. Le bucce del mirtillo spremuto per il succo o le fibre degli scarti degli ortaggi imbustati spesso contengono alcune sostanze che possono essere molto benefiche per l’uomo. Grazie al sostengo di PlantaRei, gli imprenditori possono quindi imparare a capire qual è il processo più green da utilizzare per valorizzare questi scarti.

PlantaRei Biotech is a technology transfer start-up: it specializes i.e. specializes in technology transfer for research, development, and production of botanicals, which are products derived from plants and food residues, used for example in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. The technology transfer serves to transform the results of scientific research into innovative products, facilitating the transfer of knowledge from the world of research to the market.
PlantaRei is also engaged in the reuse of food by-products giving them a new life in different sectors, from cosmetics to pharmaceuticals. The skins of the blueberry pressed for juice, for example, often contain some substances that can be very beneficial to humans. Thanks to the support of PlantaRei, entrepreneurs can therefore learn to understand what is the greenest process to use these by-products.
