Position description

Tondo is seeking an Innovation Designer. The selected candidate, hired under a full-time apprenticeship contract, will support various activities related to the development and management of innovative projects in the fields of sustainability, circular economy, and technological innovation. 
 
Specifically, the Innovation Designer will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and monitoring innovation projects; facilitating collaboration among stakeholders; identifying funding opportunities and strategic partnerships; and operating within the Taranto CirTech project. The Innovation Designer should be passionate about sustainability, innovation, and the circular economy, with at least three to four years of prior experience in corporate innovation, strategic consulting, or European project design.
 
Contract duration and conditions: apprenticeship contract, full-time. Compensation will be based on the candidate’s seniority and prior experience. The role will follow a hybrid work model.

What you will do:

• Support the implementation of the Taranto CircTech project;
• Manage relations with key public and private project partners, also at the international level;
• Monitor project progress and draft progress reports;
• Defining the Call4Ideas and the accompanying programme for start-ups;
• Organising events and conferences, representing Tondo as a reference point on the topic of the circular economy.

Required/preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Economics, Management Engineering, Environmental Sciences or related;
• Experience in the world of innovation, engineering or strategic consulting of at least 3-4 years;
• Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English;
• High energy and a strong desire to learn and be proactive;
• Proficient in Microsoft or Mac OS applications;
• Excellent written and verbal skills.

Description of the association

Tondo supports analyses, studies, scientific research, planning, experimentation, and operational activities related to interventions and services aimed at safeguarding and improving the conditions of the environment, and the prudent and rational use of natural resources, following the principles of the Circular Economy.

Tondo wants to accelerate the transition towards the Circular Economy, favouring the change of the economic system towards one that is regenerative and restorative. The association’s main aims are:

• To foster the further development of entrepreneurial and innovative activities within the Circular Economy by developing and spreading knowledge;
• To create a broad and heterogeneous ecosystem actively operating in the different areas of the circular economy;
• Experiment with new and innovative solutions through its network of partners by implementing specific projects.
